Foliage Clock: A thoroughly green concept

foliage clock concept 58

The green bug has bitten the entire planet and mercifully it is causing ailments that can only be good for the planet. Eco-friendliness has suddenly become the hip thing, a factor to be incorporated in most of our acts. The mechanical things that we make remain no exception. The Foliage Clock Concept is a great example of the green drive. This conception envisages a clock that is as natural as can be. Everything is borrowed from nature and there is no artificiality herein. The Foliage clock is a vision of Letao Tao, who has a penchant for coming with natural products. The Foliage Clock is made up of interlocking pieces of aspen wood and looks beautiful. Amazingly no nails or screws find a place in this clock and glue too is only used on the center square. The clock is then finished using natural tung oil; so no artificial varnishes. Tao has designed this piece as an accompaniment to his Foliage table – no mean creation either. I haven’t come across a concept that’s as minimalist and as green as this clock is, if you do then get back. But I have my doubts.
