This is one pool table that you don’t come across everyday. Brainchild of Craig Nottage, who designed it as an assignment during his industrial design courses at the University of South Australia, the G-1 Glass top pool table displays an innovative amalgamation of style and technology. Replacing the traditional slate or cloth surface, the revolutionary pool table boasts a patented transparent resin-playing surface, the Vitrik, which is available in both transparent and frosted finishes and a variety of colors. The see-through pool table comes with an integrated ball return mechanism inside its modern metal frame and creates an astonishing ‘floating on air effect,’ as balls glide smoothly and quietly on the surface. The transparent pool table, priced at $39,900 Australian dollars (U.S. $25,150), also includes BCA-specification pockets and K-66 bumpers.
