Aprilia Trivio concept: The near-perfect runabout

trivio aprilia

Why is the Trivio concept near perfect. Because, nothing can be perfect! Ok, jokes apart, the Trivio, a three wheeled concept from Aprilia is one handy runabout designed to scuttle across narrow city streets as well as the occasional ride out of town to your favorite beach 50 miles away. The Trivio concept combines the safety, stability and comfort of a car and the absolute convenience and traffic cutting ability of a motorcycle. The car part of the Trivio is its tilting shroud, which covers and protects the rider and the passenger from the elements just like a car. The three wheels make the Trivio stable and the external sidebars are designed to protect the riders in the event of a crash.

The motorcycle part is the sheer brilliance of the design which makes the Trivio’s rider and pillion sit one behind the other, making it an ultra convenient machine which can squeeze through narrow urban backroads and effortlessly cut across the maddening urban traffic. You can also take the Trivio out of town and have a blast doing so. Taking sporty to an all new level, Aprilia have designed a “declination” system in the Trivio, by which you can lower the ride height and adjust your riding posture to a very sporty position so that you can have some real fun in the twisties. And for that trip out of town, the Trivio also packs in a stylish luggage trolley that doubles up as a pannier box. The Trivio, which combines practicality, utility and fun, is one not-so-trivial concept which might just make it to production in the near future.
