Intended towards Italian boat brand Riva, the “Aquariva” by Australian designer Marc Newson is a limited edition luxury speedboat that seems to relive the Aquariva boat by Officina Italiana Design. Developed in collaboration with Officina Italiana Design, the speedboat features the deck and instrument panel made in textile-based laminate (phenolic composite), which not only gives an organic feel and aesthetic but also ensures more durability than wood. In addition, the new Aquariva uses anodized aluminum at the exterior to give it a more high-tech look. Combining the simplicity and functionality, the luxury boat also includes laminated glass windscreen, split cabin door entry and separate driver and passenger seats. Set for a September 2010 launch in a limited edition of 22, the new speedboat will be available for $1.5m through Gagosian Gallery.
