Atmos 566 Clock runs on minuscule changes in temperature

The Jaeager-LeCoultre Atmos 566 clock by Australian aircraft designer Marc Newson is a fantastic timepiece that gives an entirely new (celestial) dimension to time telling. Enclosing the new Jaeger-LeCoultre 566 Calibre within either clear or blue Baccarat crystal, the clock not only displays the hours, minutes and the month but also presents a fabulous view of the night sky as viewed from the Northern Hemisphere. Moreover, the timepiece includes an indication of the cardinal points and astrological signs. Running on minuscule changes in temperature, the Atmos 566 will move nonstop forever on virtually nothing. Amazing! The limited edition version, 48 pieces in Baccarat crystal and just 28 in blue Baccarat crystal, of the new Atmos clock ranges between $2,600 and $70,600. To quote Marc:

I have always been fascinated by the concept of the timepiece as a miniature universe. The Atmos 566 is particularly intriguing because of its own unique internal night sky. It’s a wonderfully mysterious object that ironically seems very timeless.
