Giving a playful touch to loudspeakers, designer Dean Brown has devised a portable speaker named “Audio Can” that can easily be taken for your modest aluminum food can, if placed in the cupboard or on the kitchen shelf. Presenting quality sound, the Audio Can invariably becomes an ideal companion for an MP3 player, cellphone or laptop which can be used in the kitchen, parkland, fire station, coffee shop and bedroom or “anywhere where music is played as an ambient companion to the immediate activity in hand.” You may use the portable speaker either as a battery powered single speaker for personal use or chain a number of speakers together to create a surround sound system. The £27.50 can speaker comes enclosed with a removable label, a 9V battery and an audio cable with standard 3.5mm connectors.
