You know how they say in the design world, if you can’t better them, copy them? Well, that’s exactly what Otokinoko (maker of the Dayon Sound Communicator) had in mind when they created the Binaural Mic. The freaky mic looks like a prop straight out of a Japanese horror flick, but in fact, is meant to record live sounds just the way a human ear does which results in omni directional 3D sound playback that is far more realistic than normal stereo thanks to subtle shifts in feeling. Now, you can use the mic by itself or attach it to a video camera for professional-quality sound. But since the manual is available only in Japanese, you better put away something extra for getting it translated apart from the $3,899 the mic is gonna cost you alone.
