Industrial designer Vil Tsimenzin has a special knack for automotive designs. Earlier we covered his Tryton MM2 electric motorbike, now the Boston-based designer has come up with a short distance vehicle dubbed the “CD2 Grasshopper” that runs on an electric motor powered by a rechargeable battery. Designed to take you on both on and off road drives, the single seat, all weather vehicle employs the charging combination of a regular 110v outlet and a solar/thermal collecting pipe system located on the roof to allow an uninterrupted ride. The extra charging will supplement and extend the life of the battery power on the move. Capable of hitting a top speed around 40 – 45 mph with a potential nonstop run of 1.25 hrs on a single charge, the concept vehicle changes its color to indicate the power status or need for extra production.
