Rooftop storage may add few extra inches inside your car or any other vehicle, but the security of your luggage and other goods remains at the mercy of weather, or burglars for that matter, on top of the roof. Offering an innovative, which is sustainable too, solution to the age-old problem of storage in the vehicles, designer James Owen has come up with a rooftop storage box that not just protects your commodities from bad weather, but also keeps them safe from robbers. Hailed as “SkyBox LoPro,” the rooftop storage gives ample space to wrap anything from luggage to your skis or even surfing boards. Featuring a low-profile aerodynamic shape, to reduces drag and cuts back on wind noise, in new titanium color, the Yakima SkyBox LoPro also includes a cargo net, cargo pad and the SkyLight, solar powered lighting system, which lights up as soon as you open the box, and that too even without the need of batteries. Priced at $1,000, the Yakima SkyLight is made of about 50% recycled material, allowing the users to keep their promise towards environment.
