Israeli designer Shay Alkalay obviously had a poor string of luck when it came to finding a sturdy table with a good drawer for his study. So he decided to attach one to an existing table by cutting two lines across the top, sticking two dangerously sharp yellow boards half way through it and fitting in a shoebox at the bottom. Nice and easy we thought, only if you don’t have a problem risking a finger or two operating that power saw and if you have a particular penchant for scraping your elbows across sharp plastic boards.
