Designed for ThyssenKrupp Elevator Competition to create an iconic emblem for Zaabeel Park in Dubai, the Francois Blanciak Architect has designed a unique tower that presents identical, or reversible, circular patterns at the top as well as base. Accommodating a children’s library on level one, together with a series of three conference rooms on level two, the emblem building also houses an art gallery in rest of the prolonged structure. The iconic structure in sharp contrast with the surrounding office buildings also features a shaded arcade, surrounding the ground level courtyard, as a reference to Islamic architecture. While the viewing platform at the top-level offers a 270° panoramic view of the mesmerizing Dubai skyline. Another notable entry for the competition is the Al Hakawati (the storyteller), an emblem of the Arabic world.
