ECOBitat prefab offers green living space during emergencies

Runner up at Something Green Challenge, the “ECObitat” is a prefab that lets the inhabitants adapt a sustainable lifestyle without compromising their everyday needs. The brainchild of Brazilian designer Felipe Campolina, the modular system in made of recyclable industrial materials to provide relief housing during emergencies. Featuring the structure finished in steel framing, vertical walls and floor made of OSB with thermo-acoustic insulation and tempered glass windows; the prefab integrates green roof and walls, allowing clean and fresh environment within the structure. The ECObitat reprocesses used water with an integrated system and makes use of solar energy via solar panels for water heating, while electricity is generated with wind turbine located on the roof. To sum up, the ECObitat is a multifunctional prefab that adapts to different topographies and harnesses natural resources to complement the eco lifestyle.
