Nominated for the Wiesner-Hager Design Award, Gordon is the perfect modern alternative to the traditional public space bench with an infinite flexibility and modular design. The interactive bench consists of a number of main bodies that are connected to each other via an elastic 3D fiber/fabric that lets users create for themselves the setting most convenient to them. The project is the brainchild of Team Tentakulus, which consists of designers Sven Fischer, Felix Herten and Jens Rohdenburg, and was one of 16 best submissions to the competition. With an option of pluggable wooden backrests and tables, the Gordon bench quickly becomes the perfect way to communicate within any public space.
