Innovation meets elegance in the Curly Sue desk lamp

Wendy Tytherleigh, a student of industrial design from the Nottingham Trent university has created this chic looking desk lamp which has the weird name of Curly Sue. The Curly Sue sits on a nice wooden base and illumination is provided by a spiral shade that emerges out of the wooden enclosure. The Curly Sue brings some nifty innovation to the table by featuring a system in which the spiral shade can be collapsed. So, you need to push it down to decrease the brightness and pull it up to increase the brightness. This in turn eliminates the use of a dimmer like other conventional table lamps. When not in use, this Curly Sue can be neatly retracted into it’s wooden casing making it very compact for storage purposes. Overall, an innovative and compact design concept.
