For those who were wondering what kind of furniture Optimus Prime has in his crib, here is your answer. The design of the Plank is certainly very witty, and the process of engineering it must have taken quite some input too. It starts out in the shape of a straight plank, but thanks to its four sturdy angled joints, it can morph into a coffee table, or a stool. The engineering of the Plank required calculating the angle of the joints so that its folds perfectly in spiral manner. This is a nice piece of folding furniture from Heatherwick Studio, and it will have the benefit of being very easy to move and store away.
