Showcased at the Geneva Motor Show 2010, the “Evora 414E” by Lotus is a new car concept that generates power from a hybrid engine for emission-free commuting. Touting a metallic body, the low-emission vehicle equips two electric motors in its rear wheels, presenting in-wheel drive to crank 414hp and a whopping 590 lb-ft of torque via electricity. While on the other hand, the torque vectoring improves handling in a great way. The extended version of the Evora 414E, i.e. the EV, integrates a lithium-ion battery pack to move the vehicle up to 35 miles “before a 47-hp three-cylinder engine kicks on to provide power.” Accumulating electrical power in a 17KWh battery, the futuristic vehicle features a HALOsonic Internal and External Electronic Sound Synthesis system to alert pedestrians, allowing a safe and sustainable ride on crowded city roads.
