Conceived by Mexican designer Isabel Rico Avila, the “Mantis” is a human powered vehicle for children from 8 to 10 years old which directly draws inspiration from nature (insects). Promoting physical activity among kids, the Mantis presents an organic and aerodynamic form which evokes movement while having fun. The vehicle forces the kids to adopt an unusual posture, which is a lot different from human propelled vehicles, presenting a new sense of adventure to the rider.
