An entry at the Beach & Pool furniture and accessories design competition, the “Plm” by Irem Öztürk from Istanbul Technical University (Turkey) is a self-reliant outdoor furniture unit for beaches that accumulates green energy in is body, through solar panels located on top of its leaves, for future consumption. The palm folds inwards and reopens again by pressing the button on the lower side of the body. Featuring roots finished with flexible foam to sit on, together with the polymer body, the palm tree offers a comfortable seating on beaches while harnessing natural energy resources.
