Post a theft, wet and dejected bicycle owners are a common site all across the world. Offering a solution to the problem, designer Murray Lippiatt, a final year student of BA (Honors) Product Design at the University of Derby, has designed simple yet effective street furniture named “Pod” that apart from being used as a business or franchise stall also helps in reducing the bicycle thefts in remote and secluded location. Finished with heavy-duty extruded steel bars, bolted into a concrete base, the pod offers a safe and sturdy place to park, rather lock, your bicycles, so you may enjoy a sound sleep during ominous nights.
