Visualizing the future of fish-farming, a team of designers, including Sverre Wiik Øberg, Ida Husjord, Silje Rabben, Mia Bjar, Thien An Van, Eldri Coll Mossige and Hanne Lian, has come up with a service boat called the “SINTEF” to move bulky fishing accessories as well as sea food to and from, respectively, offshore fish farms. Featuring a large deck for cleaning the net cage and anchor handling, the fish farming service boat also includes a huge storage below deck in the main hull. Featuring a large size to remain steady while working, the trimaran can counter high waves with ease. Moreover, the SINTEF presenting three hulls not only allows better speed but also ensures complete safety to the anglers and their catch in comparison to conventional monohull/single-hulled boats.
