Conceived by Portuguese designer Inês Ribeiro Alves, the “Smart Fridge” is food preservation system that works in tandem with creation of plants using organic household waste. Based on the principle of Claytronic technology, the flexible appliance lets the user mold its form according to the needs of the users. User need nor to prepare the food for a particular compartment, for the system moves the meal in an appropriate location and keep it in vacuum, or cold. Developed for Electrolux Design Lab, the refrigeration system includes a database to let users manage different aspects of food such as validity and caloric composition.
