Street Sign Chair, taking sitting to streets

street sign chair 01

If the Urban Seat by Damien Gires was a street-smart outdoor seating, then what would you say about the “Street Sign Chair”? For I’m falling really short of adjectives for the innovative and functional urban furniture by designer Ken Mori. Featuring a simple yet highly practical design, the Street Sign Chair when not in use rotates upward or vertical to become a signboard, informing passersby of its availability and potential use. While receiving a guest, the board rotates on its axis to fall flat or horizontal to rest the users onto the chair. The chair might not give you the comfort of a cushioned or reclining seat, but it could come in handy at a bus stop, when waiting for a bus or taxi, or a market place, where visitors can take a moment and relax while walking down the street.
