Sustainable living in the Precinct

precinct

The ultra tall Petronas twin towers are synonymous with Malaysia’s skyscape and the Malaysians will now get to live in a world class residential enclave called the Precinct courtesy Studio Nicoletti Associati. This eco friendly township, which is located at a 30km drive away from Kuala Lumpur will be one its kind in the entire of the South Asian urbanscape with it’s buidings being very distinctly designed like ships sailing on the sea. But, instead of the sea, the designers will build a huge artificial lake. The eco friendly bit will be achieved by using revolutionary construction techniques and pleasing Islamic architectural designs which will integrate sustainable terraces, sunshades and green spaces. The Precinct will also use alternate forms of energy to power it’s buildings and this in turn is expected to halve the CO2 emissions compared to other similar sized townships. Hopefully the Precinct will set a stellar precedent for other sustainable residential projects.
