Contemporary designs of beds have changed from the ubiquitous embellished sleeping platforms to simple pieces with multifunctional capabilities. Lectus, the Swedish bed maker has challenged the traditional concepts of bed designs by creating a new series of designs in association with Beckmans College of Design, dubbed ‘Think a Bed’. The Think a Bed series flaunts four exceptional concepts. Marcia Harvey Isaksson’s Strip is a bed that doubles up as storage furniture. Joel Hesselgren’s Diagonal bed has a bedside table integrated with the bed. David Wahl’s Dual bed can transform to a double bed or a single bed according to the user’s requirement. Jens Boldt’s Earth Delta is a yellow colored abstractly designed bed.
