Inspired by the Nature, formation of the clouds and the mountains (Mount Fuji found in Japanese woodblock prints of Hokusai), the Tokyo-based 16A Architecture Studio has come up with a natural though trendy landscape architecture dubbed “TSMMuseum” as a series of rolling mountains and parks. Housing a warehouse, office and library facilities, together with a cafe for the employees as well as the visitors, the museum spreads across a two-story volume mounted on various asymmetrical plinths, which suspends the building like a cloud. Surrounded by a massive glass, which apart from presenting the panoramic view of the adjacent sites also harnesses the natural light during the day, the TSM Museum presents a zig-zag and floating (like clouds) structure that opens the space up to the surrounding park.
