The most interesting aspect of contemporary designing is that designers nowadays are looking forward to increase the participation of the consumers in achieving the final design/product in accordance with their needs and likings. Supporting the statement, designer Claudio Bellini has designed a simple yet functional shelving unit named “Urban Shelving Unit,” which allows the users to play with their ideas in accomplish a storage unit for their living space. Comprised with a number of ‘L’ shaped module (each measuring 140x 35cm) stacked one on the other, the storage unit take different forms (like a bookshelf, bench, table, entertainment system, etc.) to cater a variety of customers simultaneously. Moreover, the modular storage unit doesn’t require hooks or screws to bind it together and gives infinite possibilities of composition to the users.
