The 2008 Beijing Olympics shall witness the 2,0008 meter long dragon at the Chinese town’s traditional dragon dance, made by the Shuangfeng town, Taicang city . The colorful dragon is a mile and a quarter long and will require 1,200 dancers to carry the mammoth creation. It took months to materialize out of 4,200 meters of fabric and more than 300 bamboo poles. A spokesperson told China News Network that more than 10 workers had worked meticulously to make this gigantic creature. In China, dragons are associated with strength, health, harmony, and good luck; they are placed above doors or on the tops of roofs to banish demons and evil spirits, but this one sure deserves to be flaunted for the world to notice!
