Redefining the boundaries between horticulture landscaping and architecture a new genre, merging the two disciplines- vegetated architecture- has come up and is making its presence felt big time. With architects like Ken Yeang stepping in the game, Veg.itect has produced stunning results thanks to some very unique bioclimatic high-rise designs that are as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as they are ecologically sound. Veg.itect feeds upon variability in façade and building performance in response to climate and location where the alignment of building is positioned along the solar path. With a unique flexibility that adjusts to different climatic needs throughout the year, the innovative concept uses entirely passive means of lighting and ventilation wherever it is possible to accommodate it. Yeang will also present his design theory at the Ecocity World Summit on April 22-26 in San Francisco later this year.
