Inspired by the blower Bentleys and Blue Train Bentley of the ’20s and ’30s, Boston-based designer Marc Senger has popped up with a vehicle concept named the “Bentley Dynamo” that generates power from a supercharged 4.3-liter V8 four-cylinder engine producing 538 hp and 650 lb ft of torque. Designed to compete with the Morgan Aero Supersports and Mercedes SLS AMG, the supercharger is not only an homage to the old Bentleys but also represents a break in the long-standing industry trend of concealing mechanical beauty. The modern interpretation of the infamous 1929 4 1/2-liter racer uses a double-hinged hood, which is estimated to cost about $200,000.
