The Fluke is a sculptural piece designed by Ed Barber and Jay Osgerby. This piece describes an anchor and a whale’s tail and measures 3m in height. The piece indicates marine anatomy and nautical design engineering, which has been the point of interest of many designers since a long time now.
The Old Royal Naval College in conjunction with the London Design Festival has displayed the piece in Greenwich, London last month. The place has been chosen as it holds a special significance with respect to maritime history. The design has been sculpted out of an 8mm Cor-Ten steel plate and weighs a good 1.3 tonne with 4m width.
