The inspiration behind the ‘Curtis’ series is Jenny Nordberg’s strong dislike of curtains. And as crazy as it may sound, she is fond of working with things she doesn’t like. This Swedish designer’s passion is to transform typical Swedish peasant furniture and accessories, adding to their beauty. Curtis, which she presented at Designers Block in Milan this year, is a table and a lamp which is draped with fabric similar to curtains. Not only are these new industrial designs fabulous, but they are a perfect blend of high style and sustainability.
Just like all her other works which are made of ecological and environment friendly material, Curtis, too, is locally produced in Swedish wood, painted with eco paint and draped in eco fabrics. It’s just the right blend of modern and contemporary design with the old-world charm of Victorian design.
