Combining the functions of two gadgets into a single piece, designer Igor Lobanov has come up with a clock USB-fan for the computer dubbed “Item” that apart from cooling your computer doubles as an alarm clock. The designed device unites functions of a fan heater, hours, an alarm clock. The device eats from [the] computer USB-port. It allows to correct in addition work of the fan, heating elements, to choose a set of functions, to appoint them for control sliders and to combine them with other possibilities of the computer, by means of the program interface.
Management from the computer opens the broadest open space for possible variants of functioning. This object should besides the decision of functional problems, “recover” a workplace, creating game effect.
Thus the fan should become not separate object, and an element of computer system: it can be used together with other devices, forming new functional devices. The fan form is intentionally designed visually unstable. Stability is reached at the expense of the layout decision.
