Commissioned by Jesolo, one of Italy’s most established seaside resorts, Zaha Hadid Architects has come up with a new retail and business center dubbed “Jesolo Magica” for the resort of Jesolo that includes shops, bars, restaurants, offices, a hotel, a congress center and health center to attract visitors from all around the world. Located around the Venice Lagoon, the multi-purpose building “creates a continuum of fluid space that instigates a renewed sense of possibility.” Spreading the volumes encompassing the retail center like the petals of a flower, the Jesolo Magica project also features a gymnasium, spa, nightclub and outdoor spaces for events. Designed by Zaha Hadid with Patrik Schumacher, the conference and holiday destination is due to be completed in 2014.
