JZ Microphones The Black Hole Mic with innovative features

The first thing that struck me when I saw this image for the first time was it’s look — sleek and sophisticated. But, I had to find out what it exactly is! When I learned that it is a mic, I was quite pleasantly surprised. I have always pictured mics to be being round-headed. Rarely, have I come across a mic that’s so cool in its design.

Apart from its looks, the features are — the JZ Microphones The Black Hole Mic, a Class A condenser mic. Such features are a rarity in mics too. To begin with, the multi-pattern format or opposite-placed large capsules will fit in many studios. Moreover, it boasts of a host of other cool features like switchable cardioid, omni and figure-8 polar patterns, 2 large electrostatic capsules, 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, 127 dB dynamic range, 3-pin gold-plated XLR output and integrated capsule shockmount.

The mic can be used with a stand holder to keep it hands-free. It is going to be a star attraction at the Winter NAMM 2008 show. It will be available for $1850.00. Musicians will have another reason to continue practicing, and the attractive mic might even inspire some others to try their hands (oops, voices) at singing!
