This year at the 100% Design, the center of attraction, both literally and metaphorically was the Levantina Bar. Designed by Lime Studio, the Levantina bar puts to use several materials in its various sections. The design is the product of an interesting collaboration between Lime Studio and Levantina, “the world’s biggest stone company.” The latter supplies material while the former puts it to use in innovative ways in various designs. The Levantina Bar is an illustration of the synergy between the two groups. The Levantina Bar is encased in a wooden canopy, colored vividly. Inside, the floor is of Sahara Black granite while the tables are Blanco Ibiza. The bar is divided into a formal sitting area, and a more relaxing space. The formal area is located underneath the canopy while the lounging space is outside. The formal area has a restaurant-like feeling to it while the relaxing area has low cushioned stools arranged around single coffee tables. The black granite bar is located away from both these areas. The bar space itself puts on show three new furniture concepts by the studio: an upholstered bench, dining chair and marble topped dining table. The Levantina Bar is sure to add to the growing reputation of the Lime Studio, a group that was established all but three years back by a trio of budding entrepreneurs.
