PlantLock beautifies frontyard -but how well does it secure bicycles?

Nowadays with the ‘Eco-boom’ ‘Green is in’ trend sweeping through, it is not uncommon to see substandard and underdeveloped products get an environment-friendly tag slapped on them and thrown into the market. The PlantLock is supposed to beautify the surroundings while securing bicycles, but its just like any other planting pot out there, and doesn’t even keep bicycles that safe. How is a 75kg (165lb) weight that isn’t anchored to the ground supposed to safeguard any bicycle? Most guys can easily squat or deadlift 90kg, so whats to stop a pair of guys from pulling up in a truck and lifting the ‘weight’ into the truck bed with the bikes attached. At best, the PlantLock will only deter petty bike-thefts, being an easy toss for a serious jacker.

As a redeeming factor, the PlantLock’s construction is very durable, built from case hardened steel; and the variety of color finish options will at least beautify the environment. So after your bike gets stolen, you can at least take solace in the fact that you will be walking in a splendid landscape.
