Practice Venn Diagrams with About-Time

pic 1

Look at the picture above. What does it look like? A plate with colored discs or a new toy for your child to play with? Well let me reveal it is About-Time. I mean this clock shaped like a Venn diagram is called About-Time and is the brainchild of Louie Rigano.

The yellow colored disc which is the biggest serves as the second needle, the medium sized blue colored circle is the minute hand while the smallest in red is the hour hand. When these circles overlap each other to display time, a new color combination is crafted every time. To calculate time one has to observe the outermost part. Wedged on a plastic plate are these hands (which also conceals the whole machinery) that have been created out of lucid acetate.

A little complicated for those who dread math and could never understand Venn diagrams. But then somehow it is more like a fancy object or another piece to be dropped in your weird collection list. Reading time from this timepiece will without a second though need some practice.
