Winner of the Good Design Award 2007 of Chicago Athenaeum, the Rescue Beacon project from Tancher Electronics Social Safety Initiative (TESSI) is a bold new step taken toward the firm’s Social Safety Initiative which seeks to promote preservation of human life by urging the electronics industry as well as the governmental authorities to expand the research in the field of emergency alarm technologies. With the dangerous rise of terrorism along man-made and natural disasters, the threat to human life has increased manifold. A need for fool-proof emergency alarm system as well as life-rescuing devices is imminent.

TESSI aims at addressing this problem with its very own Rescue Beacon that are actually fitted with a USB flash memory radio and can be helpful in locating survivors trapped under debris in case of an earthquake, explosion, cave-ins and avalanches. Tancher is willing to share the technical details of this amazing Rescue Beacon with all interested manufacturers free of charge, as a part of their philanthropic Social Safety Initiative.
