Spirit House Chair from Libeskind and Klaus Nienkamper

Don’t you just love the fairytale-ish home furnishings that result when architects use their imaginations to designing everyday products? Take this gorgeous and pointy Spirit House Chair created by Architect Daniel Libeskind and designer Klaus Nienkamper. The collaborative design is full of outlandish analogies if you look closely. Made from stainless steel sheets in ‘interlocking, self supporting structures, which are reminiscent of crystals’ while its seat looks more like an ancient throne stone made in stone. Currently on display at the new ROM museum in Toronto and Michael Lee-Chin’s crystal Spirit House, the gorgeous post-modern chair comes with a custom laser-engraved signature of the designers making it a true collector’s treasure.
