Featured in Design Week and New Design Magazine, the Urba by Daniel Lewis is an urban space furniture unit that makes use of a number of smart components which fit together into the environment, creating the modular seating structure. Subtle divisions in the seating give each user a personal space while indicating the link of social interaction through its one piece design. Urba also has the option of including low voltage lighting in its surrounding environment, thus creating the feeling of a safer space, especially at night. Molded polyurethane modules fit over anchored power rods that conduct low voltage electricity. The end section of the module can be removed for fitting and maintenance. Finished with polymer concrete/recycled rubber, Urba’s smart components are also available in a number of materials, including 20mm Acrylic/FSC Walnut Veneer/316 Stainless Steel, in order to suit a wide range of public spaces.
