Commissioned by a home on The Palms in Dubai, London-based designer Ryan McElhinney has come up with a unique clock dubbed “Westminster Chiming Grandfather Clock” that apart from telling time also helps in sustaining the environment, as the clock recycles discarded plastic toys. Featuring an original grandfather clock enclosed by the plastic toys coated in high gloss white polyurethane, the sustainable clock also integrates a working Westminster Chime mechanism to chime after every 15 minutes. Measuring 2.2 meters in height, the custom-made timepiece restores the childhood memories of the owner in a working piece of art.
