World’s 22nd largest skyscrapper is the world’s worst building

worlds worst building in north korea

Not every architectural extravaganza is worth admiring. Not every skyscraper is worth living. This can be safely said about North Korea’s Ryugyong Hotel that has been dubbed as the worst building in the world. The world’s 22nd largest skyscraper that its architect tried to design may be on the lines of the Pyramid or a satellite launcher or whatever, but all it it looks like is an unattractive piece of construction decorated with iron scraps and cement slabs. Believe it or not but the building is lying vacant for two decades and the embarrassed North Korean government is trying to hide it from the world by obliterating it from the pictures of Pyongyang’s skyline. This is rather unfortunate considering the 3000-roomed building could have become a tourist attraction of the country.
