Designer Diana Halbeisen’s topless table is an eye-opener sort of thing. It provides us with exactly the same functionality that we would expect from any dinner table, but in a very unique manner.
When I first saw this table, I thought I was looking at some unfinished design, but a thorough scrutiny cleared all my doubts. The table is made using a series of metal rods with bent circles to hold your plate and a glass. The rods attach to the main steel section which has a wooden plank for the support. The designer has quite successfully explained us the bare truth about a dinner table.
There was a time when product designers used to play with a combination of materials to decorate their concepts. It seems the clock has started to tick reverse and we are definitely going back to the basics.
