Futuristic GPS-centric Smartphone to ensure superior navigation

HTC Wayfinder & Google Nexus Dock

Singaporean designer Donn Koh wanted to create a dockable smartphone that would allow users the functionality of a full-fledged navigator without compromising on the styling. Combining the aesthetically disparate genres of car navigation and professional business chic, Koh envisioned the HTC Wayfinder Language & Google Nexus One Car Dock which looks to dress down the aggressive sportiness of the average navigator and highlight its style to suit more urbane sensibilities.

Using a restrained sophistication, the sleek dock was reimagined as a product that would support both Google Nexus One and HTC HD2 as a dashboard-top accessory. Focusing on providing accessible but appropriately styled in-car navigation mount, the design highlights the iconic GPS devices without interfering with the panache of the interiors of premium sedans.

The dock features a circular base with the motif repeated throughout the design that culminates in the protruded docking port itself. The compact, maneuverable stem allows users to adjust the display to their comfort while the black-on-black brushed metal finish on the whole mount allows it to blend seamlessly with interiors which further underlines the business-like sophistication.
