Issy les Moulineaux redefining Garden of Eden

Issy les Moulineaux Promenade

Can you imagine how the world would look like 20-30 years from now? Do you see smoke-filled grey skies and tall & abandoned sky scrapers that might fall any moment? You find no tress, no bushes, no flowers, not even a single piece of hay. No colors. No smiling faces. The world would be filled with automobiles and infrastructures, everywhere – on the road and in the sky. When you live in one of those tall buildings, you will see out of the windows cars flying past you, and bridges crossing over with tones of vehicles on it, instead of birds and the blue skies. And what about people walking down the streets – no one knows. So, if pedestrians are encouraged and if proper facilities are made to motivate, then it becomes a pleasure to walk rather than driving flying cars! Stéphane Malka of MALKA architectures takes up the project, by getting inspiration of an eco green world, to build a pedestrian bridge.

In the suburban areas of Paris, a city is chosen. Issy les Moulineau is ready to be redefined by creating a roundabout that flows around the banks of the Seine and the Boulevard Victor RER station. The main entry will be enhanced and the main view of Paris will be exposed by about 90% by reducing the structure of the E05 periphery ring road.

The pedestrians will get to enjoy walking over single line units from the banks of the Seine and from the Boulevard Victor RER station which makes the transportation to and fro from Issy more feasible. Not just that, but the bridge will be covered with vegetal muscle, thus eradicating and filtering out pollution, providing shades and envisioning a greener side to the city.

The pedestrian bridge filled with greenery will now come out with colorful flowers and freshening the air with spring scents. Experimenting with the structures and roadways, people now get to walk with nature and embrace it along their way. A nightmare of the automatic filled world is also totally out of the question.
