New York in 2030 – Through the eyes of Audi architects

new york 2030 by audi

Do you believe the world is going to end in 2012? You do? Alright, then stop reading this and go elsewhere. If you’re the more optimistic variety and wonder what the world might look like some 30 years from now, keep reading, and more importantly, looking. This is the future envisioned by Audi architects for 2030, with the scene set in New York City.

Some of these images are almost ethereal. You really couldn’t imagine the world looking like this, but it doesn’t hurt to dream, right? The year 2030 was specifically chosen because it is estimated that 60% of the world’s population will be living in an urban environment by then. The main focuses are on alternative energy (not to mention alternative architecture) with featured locations including Lower Manhattand, Hudson Bay, Central Park, Washington Heights, and Turtle Bay.

Who knows what the future is going to look like? We certainly don’t. The Audi architects can’t claim to either, but if you don’t have a model of what you want your future world to look like, you don’t really have much to go on, do you?
