This spectacular design recreates the splendor and mystic charm of the Pushkinsky or the Rossiya cinema. The legendary cinema hall located in the heart of Moscow has been a mute witness to the rich history of turbulence and unprecedented change – right from the bright days of yore to the dark era of oblivion.
The magnificent representation brings the splendid architecture back on center stage, capturing the historic significance of the square and cinema. Inspired by the Marchesa haute couture and Renaissance sculptures, the symbolic recreation unfolds the chronological turn of events. Rigid geometrical shapes represent the disciplinary enforcement and puritan character of the communist rule, while the alluring shapes like the skirt hem lines reflect the unabashed consumerism and hedonism of the current times.
Covered by a grand LED media-embedded facade, the entrance has a 30 degree rotating axis that connect audiences and artistes in a processional gangway. The seamless finish of the surface highlights gradient lights of circular glass apertures circled round strategic points of the facade. The synchronization between gradient lights and the LED facade maintains dynamic harmony at all times. The integrated structure comprising the renovated bridge and gangway, the dynamic facade and the adjoining restaurants truly reflect Rossiya’s Flourish.
